I LATINA IS A LATIN AMERICAN CUISINE RESTAURANT THAT OFFERS A 7 COURSE TASTING MENU, A CULINARY JOURNEY FROM MEXICO TO PATAGONIA. OUR GASTRONOMIC APPROACH IS THE RESULT OF YEARS OF INVESTIGATION DIRECTED BY OUR CHEF SANTIAGO MACÍAS, EXPLORING THE REGION’S DIVERSITY AND UNIQUENESS. WE ARE INSPIRED BY THE FLAVORS, TECHNIQUES, INGREDIENTS AND CULTURE OF SOUTH AND CENTRAL AMERICA.
TO ACCOMPANY DINNER, WE HAVE DESIGNED A SPECIAL WINE PAIRING THAT INCLUDES WINES FROM DIFFERENT REGIONS OF ARGENTINA. BY DOING THIS, WE SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE BEST WINEMAKERS IN THE COUNTRY AND HARMONIZE EACH COURSE WITH AN EXCELLENT ARGENTINE WINE.
He was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1985 and at 17 decided to move to Buenos Aires to start his culinary studies. His childhood was marked by the years he lived in Cartagena, located in the caribbean coast of Colombia, where his mother and her side of the family are originally from. This is where his first culinary memories come from, the flavors that have inspired him the most throughout his career.
His fascination with food took him to become a chef. After years of working in hotels and restaurants in Argentina, Santiago decided that his culinary path had to be focused in Latin America’s colorful and flavorful ingredients. This interest led him to undertake several exploratory trips through South and Central America where he was able to discover the essence of the region’s cuisine.
i Latina was first opened in 2008 in San Carlos de Bariloche (Patagonia) where the Macías siblings (Laura, Santiago and Camilo) developed a unique style with the idea of promoting and exposing Latin cuisine, showing their guests the wonderful flavors of the continent.
In 2012 the restaurant was relocated to Buenos Aires and they chose a beautiful turn of the century restored house, in the traditional Villa Crespo district, as their new location for the project they have begun in Bariloche a few years before. This time, they decided to drop the à la carte menu and opted for a fixed menu that best represented their vision and their intention to create a complete, continuous experience of Latin America’s most representative tastes and ingredients.
The Macías siblings work as a team where everyone is responsible for one area of the restaurant; Laura takes care of customer service, communications and ambience of the restaurant, Santiago directs the gastronomic experience both in research and cooking stages and Camilo, currently living in Barcelona, works as the adviser on drinks and trends in service.

We present a selection of the best Argentine wines, exalting the quality and richness of the different wine regions of the country. We focus on incorporating complex and high-quality wines, young and fruity, that highlight and complement the varied flavors of our menu. We chose within the wide range of Argentine wines, mainly those that come from family wineries, which tell a story and show the passion of those who produce them. Every glass of wine that comes to the table speaks of a unique origin, its terroir, varietal, style and the producer. To accompany dinner, you can select the wine pairing chosen by our sommelier, achieving a special harmonization that complements our chef’s tasting menu, or you can choose a bottle from the wine list.
